Infant Program: Ages 6 weeks to a little over a year.
The infant program allows babies to learn and grow at their own pace with individual schedules created by parents and our amazing staff in the infant room.
Physical Development– Babies love to move and our infant room creates a nurturing and safe environment that allows the babies to learn and master new skills such as crawling, standing, and walking.
Social and Emotional Development– Our infant room staff create meaningful interactions. Staff form secure attachments and help develop a sense of trust. Our staff creates routines that allow the infant to feel safe and secure through predictable daily routines.
Cognitive Skills– Staff is always giving the babies chances to explore the world around them with independent play and guided play. Students learn things such as cause and effect and problem solving skills.
Language Development– Teachers create a positive language filled room that allows the babies to learn new words and model how conversation works.
Toddlers Ages: 12 months to 2 years old
Through Zion’s toddlers program, children gain an understanding of everyday events and procedures and learn what is expected of them as routines make their environment more predictable.
Physical Development– Toddlers will have plenty of dance parties, time to jump, climb and run around both indoor and outdoor! Toddlers will work on creating basic hand coordination skills by drawing, painting and other sensory play.
Social and Emotional Development- Toddlers will see teachers model behaviors such as sharing and checking on friends who may be upset. Teacher encourage and help the toddler recognize the emotions in a positive and health way.
Cognitive Skills- The classroom is filled with activities to make your little one use extra brain power through the day! This is done with puzzles, sorting actives, reading, imagination play and so much more!!
Language Development- Teachers talk to toddlers all day modeling back and forth conversation. Students are read to daily. Students often sing and dance making learning new words engaging and fun!
Two’s Classrooms: Ages 2 years old to 3 years old by Sept. 1st
Zion’s Two’s program provides students a nurturing, flexible and calm atmosphere.
Physical Development-The students have many opportunities to play indoors and outdoors. Our teachers lead dance parties, we have riding cars and bikes that allow students to use both fine and gross motor skills.
Social and Emotional Development- In our twos room teachers still model behaviors such as sharing and checking on friends who may be upset. Staff model empathy and conflict resolution.
Cognitive Skills- The classroom is filled with activities to challenge your student throughout their day. Children play with puzzles, sorting activities, matching games, circle time, and time for building and creating. Both two’s classroom have their own personal library of age appropriate books.
Language Development-Teachers model conversation to the students. They model how they feel when they like or dislike something, when something or someone make them sad or happy. They read books aloud and ask questions about the story and how they think a character may feel.
Preschool
Our preschool program is designed for children 3 years old (and potty trained) by September 1st.
These children have the opportunity to explore, develop and interact with other children in order to build and expand social understanding and skills.
Children learn by doing. Their day is structured according to their needs and ages of the children in care. They work as a whole group, small group, and independently. Learning how to get along with others is hard work. This group works on large motor skills during gym time, PE time, and recess. They gain small motor coordination during centers which are designed to spark their interest and expand their skills. Choice time is given each day to encourage exploration of their world. Preschool sings, dances and plays every day!
“Jesus Time” provides an opportunity to meet Jesus, to become His friend. We pray and sing to help foster a relationship with God.
A low teacher/student ratio is maintained to enable ample supervision and hands! We plan activities to encourage and support growth and development of children.
