Religion

Philosophy

Religious education is a vital part of our total school curriculum and is usually integrated throughout all areas of the curriculum. God has blessed us with His Holy Word and compels us to use it for instruction. Students are given the opportunity to learn and celebrate the world He has created for us. Through regular study of His Word, we learn what it means to live a life pleasing to God.

Program Standards

  • Be able to live a spiritually healthy life.
  • Be able to develop positive relationships with yourself and others, including self-esteem, coping skills, adaptability to change, and making and maintaining friends.
  • Demonstrate a positive prayer life.
  • Understand the relationship between God and His children.
  • Be able to apply Christian principles for living to one’s everyday life.
  • Be able to use examples of God’s Word, understanding how God still works in our lives today.
  • Understand that the Bible is a gift from God.

๐Ÿฒ Learning Through Literature and the Kitchen! ๐Ÿฒ Learning Through Literature and the Kitchen! ๐Ÿฅ•๐Ÿ“š

Today at Zion in our 5th and 6th grade, our students cooked up a hearty Depression-Era Stew as part of an interdisciplinary lesson that combined literature, health, and faith. After reading about life during the Great Depression in literature class, we stepped into the shoes of characters from that era โ€” right into the kitchen!

In health class, weโ€™ve been learning about the benefits of eating fresh, nutrient-rich vegetables, just like families back then often relied on. Simple ingredients, big nutrition, and a meaningful connection to the past.

๐Ÿ™ As a Christian school, we also reflected on how God provides โ€” in every season โ€” and how thankfulness and creativity can flourish even in hard times.
